Pumpkin Life Cycle Lesson

Today, we talked about how a pumpkin grows. We studied the steps using a Flipchart. We watched a short movie on a pumpkin's life cycle. We learned about seeds, sprouts, vines, flowers, green pumpkins and orange pumpkins.

We colored the steps a pumpkin takes to grow into an orange pumpkin. Then, we cut out and glued the steps to our Pumpkin Lifecycle Sheet. Look at all those vocabulary words!!

We used these pictures to help us "Put First Things First" as we worked on our Pumpkin Lifecycle Sheet.

If we needed some reminders about which step came next, we went back to look at the Flipchart! Wow, we are such proactive learners!!!

At home, ask us to tell you how a pumpkin grows! We are working on using our transition words to help us explain steps (first, second, third, next, then, last).

Night Centers

We have had so much fun learning about nighttime and daytime. We learned so many cool things! We learned that many animals play at night. That means they are nocturnal. Ask your child to tell you about a nocturnal animal.

Emma and Filip are making counting books about bats.

Aela and Stella are doing a Flipchart over nocturnal animals.

Jada is making predictions about whether an animal is nocturnal (plays at night) or diurnal (plays during the day). She then checks to see if her predictions were correct.

Amael and Kayan are writing books about nocturnal animals.

Next week, we will learn all about PUMPKINS!

Tomorrow is Early Dismissal at 11:50 am

I can't wait to see all the crazy hairstyles tomorrow! My Kindergarten friends will stay with me until 11:50 am. Please email me if your child will be doing anything different for dismissal. Thank you!

Aela and Jada are listening to books on the IPad.

Filip and Kayan are writing I can see farm or fall books. These books will also go in their Bag of Books.

Claudio and Stella are using the Interactive White Board to do math. They use the pens to put the correct number of animals under the barn. One partner places the correct number of farm animals under the barn. The other person is the checker. They switch roles every time.
