Apple Investigations

The Kindergartners need an apple for their PM Kindergarten class. They are going to do some really fun things with their apples! Mrs. Robert's class is doing their apple activities on Wednesday. Mrs. Fink's class is doing their apple activities on Thursday.

5 Senses Book

We are writing a 5 Senses book. Today, we wrote about what we can taste and what we can see. We also practiced reading our book to our partners. We practiced pointing to the words as we read. At home, we can practice pointing to the words as we read.

Our Authors

The students have been making their own books. They love to read the books they make. Each student has a bag they can put their books in. Sometimes, our students choose to keep books in their bag, so they can read them later.

We are Writers!!!

We are learning to write SENTENCES!!! We talk about all the wonderful things that good writers do! Writers always think before they write! When writers write words they STRETCH the sounds to help them write words. Mrs. Roberts made some amazing signs that help us when we write! Maybe these signs can help you write with your student at home.

5 Senses

We used our 5 Senses to explore an orange. We smelled the oranges. They smelled sweet. We looked at the oranges. We saw triangles. We squeezed our oranges and heard some funny sounds. We tasted our oranges and they tasted sweet and spicy. We touched our oranges. They felt squishy. We wrote down our observations with words and pictures, just like real Scientists do!!
We had so much fun exploring our senses!

Chicka Chicka Boom

On Wednesday, we talked about uppercase and lowercase letters. We sorted some foam letters into two piles; uppercase and lowercase letters. We then looked around the room to see if we could find upper and lowercase letters. We wrote them on our paper. We made it into a book. We LOVE making books.

Vowels and Consonants

Today we talked about vowels (a,e,I,o,u) and consonants. We watched a great video on You Tube called, Leap Frog Talking Words Factory's Vowels the "Sticky" Letters. We sang about our vowels and then found all of the consonants. Boy, there were a lot of consonants! Together, we made a chart.
