We practiced our Letter H! We are so good at writing the Letter H! Let's practice Letter H at Home! 

 

Just a Swinging

We were able to swing on the swings today. It can be hard to get on the swing moving or pump (swing ourselves) our legs, but we did not give up. We kept practicing and practicing going in and out. 

Shapes Review

We are reviewing our shapes. Triangles, rectangles, squares, diamonds, ovals, circles, and stars are the shapes we reviewed this week. 

We practiced cutting out our shapes on a dotted line. It sure can be hard to do, however we tried our best and worked hard! We then matched our shape halves together and glued them on our blue construction paper. What fun! 

Help us practice cutting by giving us chances to cut scrap paper (paper you do not want) at home. 

Too Hot for Friday's Long Lawn Day

Lawn Day is a day students will be doing sport like activities (racing, jumping, volleyball, etc).  Hot weather will prevent Long from having the Lawn Day on Friday, August 30th. Lawn Day will be rescheduled for Friday, September 6th. 

On Friday, we will have a C day. That means Thursday and Friday will both be C days. Whatever block ( PE, Music, Art, or Technology) your child has on Thursday, they will also have on Friday.

Friends Reading the Same Book

Learning Centers

We practiced Letter B, played on iPads, and played the game, Zingo.  Ask your child to write the Letter B. At home, they can practice finding the Letter B. 

Letter A is our Letter of the Day

We practiced writing Letter A today! It was great fun! Ask your Kindergartner to write the letter A. 

Shake Break Yoga

We practiced some Yoga during our Shake Breaks. Shake Breaks are a time when we dance, move, or stretch. 

Long Curriculum Nights

Attending, Curriculum Night is a great way to help your child in their 2013-2014 School Year.

We cut out, counted and glued the letters in our names. Ask your Kindergartner how many letters are in their name? Check our green ELL folders to see this activity.

Fire Drill Practice

We practiced our Fire Drill routine. We practiced staying very quiet and staying in a straight line. They did fabulous! 

We're Going on Tour of Long School

Kindergarten Parents:

We have a severe peanut allergy in our class. Please, please do NOT send in snacks that have peanuts or tree nuts in them. Please also do not send in snacks that may contain traces of peanuts. 

Some possible snacks are fruit, veggies, Cheese-it's, Fruit snacks, and Gogurt Yogurt.
