Cinco de Mayo Celebration

Today, we celebrated Cinco de Mayo. We talked about Mexico. We danced to some authentic Mexican music. The students loved dancing to Mariachi music. 

We read Skippy Jon Jones and learned about Skippy Jon's adventures. We even learned about piñatas. The students loved this book! 

We wrote about what we would put in our pinatas. 

We made colorful flowers from tissue paper to match the beautiful flowers we see outside. 

Early Dismissal Day Tomorrow: 4/23

Students can wear their favorite Rock-n-Roll clothes. Students will be dismissed at 1:40pm. 

How To Authors

The students shared their How To books with our class. The students did very well at teaching us how to do something. We added tips and warnings to help our readers. 

Partner How To Editing

We are working with partners to edit our how to books. We learned that we can help our partners to become stronger writers. We can help our partners stretch words to help them spell tricky words. We can give some suggestions to our partner to help them revise and edit their books. 

Writing Center

The students are creating cards in the Writing Center. They are writing their cards to friends and family.

Early Release Day: Wednesday, January 15th

Tomorrow students will be dismissed at 1:40 PM. 

Students can come to school, "Dressed to Impress". Students can wear nice dress clothes, if they want.
